چکیده

Background Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) is recognised as the gold standard technique for the assessment of cardiovascular function in adults. In children, image quality is dependent on compliance with motion control and breath-hold instructions. Inability to maintain repeated breath-holds in a consistent phase of respiration can result in respiratory misregistration errors. There is limited data on the accuracy of CMR in children.

Normal right- and left ventricular volumes and myocardial mass in children measured by steady state free precession cardiovascular magnetic resonance

BACKGROUND Quantification of ventricular volume by steady state free precession (SSFP) cardiovascular magnetic resonance is accurate and reproducible. Normal values exist for adults, but are lacking for children. We sought to establish normal values for left and right ventricular volumes, mass and function in healthy children by using SSFP. METHODS AND RESULTS Fifty children (27 females, 23 ma...

How to perform left and right ventricular function quantification in cardiac magnetic resonance imaging with a simple mouse click

Introduction Ventricular function is a primary indicator for the diagnosis and treatment monitoring of many cardiovascular diseases. Cardiac cine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with steady state free precession (SSFP) sequences is regarded to be the standard of reference for the assessment of ventricular function. However, manual segmentation of MRI data is a time consuming process and also s...

Improved accuracy of quantitative assessment of left ventricular volume and ejection fraction by geometric models with steady-state free precession.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether steady-state free precession (SSFP) could improve accuracy of geometric models for evaluation of left ventricular (LV) function in comparison to turbo gradient echo (TGrE) and thereby reduce the acquisition and post-processing times, which are commonly long by use of the Simpson's Rule. In 25 subjects, cine loops of the complete heart in short ...

The Correlation between Left and Right Ventricular Ejection Fractions in Patients with Ischemic Heart Disease, Documented by Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Introduction: The correlation between right and left ventricular ejection fractions (RVEF and LVEF, respectively) has been studied in only a small number of patients with a marked decrease in RVEF and LVEF. The aim of the present study was to compare LVEF and RVEF in patients with ischemic heart disease. RVEF and LVEF were measured by Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging. Materials a...

VENTRICULAR FUNCTION Normal human left and right ventricular and left atrial dimensions using steady state free precession magnetic resonance imaging

Purpose. The aim of this project was to establish a database of left and right ventricular and left atrial dimensions in healthy volunteers using steady-state free precession cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, the clinical technique of choice, across a wide age range. Methods. 108 healthy volunteers (63 male, 45 female) underwent cardiac magnetic resonance imaging using steady-state free prece...
